In one of my domains

I have tried to set up anonymous FTP In the c-panel.
I checked both options (to Turn them on)

QUOTE
Allow anonymous access to ftp://ftp.mydomain.com
Allow anonymous uploads to ftp://ftp.mydomain.com/incoming

instead of going to the public_ftp folder where c-panel put the "incoming" folder and ftp welcome message information
it goes (I think)
to the public_html folder? (you tell me)

instead of seeing The "Incoming folder"
I see 2 folders, one called "mail " and and the other "pub"

I have yet to find out where to put files and actualy have them show up at
ftp://ftp.mydomain.com
so "allow anonymous access" doesn't work

and I have yet to be able to reach, create or write to a folder at
ftp://ftp.mydomain.com/incoming
that can be viewed or written to via anonymous login
so "allow anonymous uploads" doesn't work

I need your help to make this part of the control panel function
any advice on how to enable this properly via c-panel?
any help would be greatly appreciated smile.gif

At first to enable anonymous ftp host on your site your domain must have a dedicated ip address. If you still don't have it you need to pay for it and we'll share a separate ip address for you and configure anonymous ftp on your site. Now your anonymous ftp server assigned to shared anonymous ftp (main server ip address) and isn't working properly.

I have contacted support to add ip and configure ftp
but it still doesnt work

now I do see an incoming folder - but cannot write to it
(also ftp welcome message not showing)

ticket reference is 3595
If I pm you with c-panel info can you look into it for me please?
thanks for the help!
Vanya
I've changed your sites IP to a leased one. Anon. ftp should work when your dns zone will propagade.
dragonfli
Thanks Vanya!

Everything is resolving to the new ip now and the proper folder(public_ftp)
shows up on anonymous ftp login,

Two things left to fix with ftp configuration

1. "incoming" folder is still unwrittable no matter how i set chmod
2. welcome message shows up as a file rather than the ftp welcome message.

thanks again for all the help thus far!
let me know about those other things when you get a chance to look at it
Vanya
Please open a trouble ticket on this problem.

another one? OK
I'll try one more time, but if anonymous uploads don't work I'll try setting up different ftp accounts for him and his various family members to upload pictures to;
he can then move them to the puplic ftp folder(via main account)
for all family members to download from as neccesary.
more work for him but functional enough.
Sorry to be such a bother sad.gif
but anonymous ftp set-up looked a lot easier on the c-panel so I didn't expect to need so much help.
really appreciate the extra effort. smile.gif
Alec
Anonymous users can upload now.
We are investigating welcome message problem additionally
dragonfli
Thanks Alec! everything is working much better now. One small problem, which should be easy to fix - I no longer have access rights to the folder the public uploads to (except public of course) this I imagine is an easy fix for you. I submitted a ticket for it and hope to be able to access it again soon (need to delete a couple of test uploads)
You guys have been great!
Happy Holidays and keep up the good work!
Alec
You ticket has been resolved and anonymous users have a full access to your public ftp folders again.
