Full Version: Can the cPanel Log-in Name be Changed?

Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to have my cPanel log-in name be changed to something else other than my domain name? I think it's a security risk to virtually give away the username to an account's cPanel seeing as how it appears by default to be the same as the initial domain name of the account. Which was true in my case at least. If possible, let me know what I need to do to go through the process of having this changed... i.e. via e-mail, on here, etc. Thanks for your help.

P.S.

(example) my domain: wildclay.net
cPanel username: wildclay (I'd like to have this changed)

Yes, we can change your login.
But what you wrote it's not a security hole, you just need to have a non-vocabulary password with 8 characters long min.
You can e-mail us to support@hostony.com and we'll change it if you want.

Thanks for the info, Vanya!

I didn't mean security hole, just more of a slight risk. Cause if I know someone's domain name then I know their user name too. But you are correct, a good password should be enough to stop somone anyway. Thanks again.
