Here's a little info for people who are a little currious as to what this is:
"mod_gzip, created in autumn, 2000, is an internet content acceleration module for Apache. It contains a highly optimized, and Web server thread-safe, version of gzip. Its implementation allows for using the compression method gzip for a significant reduction of the volume of web page content served over the HTTP protocol. "
