What's the deal with the server load Issues that has hender hostony for the last 4 months. When I first joined, the server overload was never issued. It now seems this is a ever day thing.

Sorry, that server is DDOSed now. The tech is monitoring the server addding atackers ips to the firewall drop list. The list is keep growing but they are finding new anonymous proxies around the wall. Load bursts are not continues and last until Egor put new ip they start atacking from to the black list.
Also IMAP service is up at the moment.
Sorry for inconvenience cause by this, but in this case the only thing we can do is to add atackers ips to the firewall ion order to keep online. I hope they will stop once they realise that they won't put server down that way.

I have been having the same problem for about a month now. Sometimes it is fast, but increasingly it is slow. Right now the server is reading flashing yellow at Disk sda3 (/) at 83%.
I understand the DOS attack problem, but this is getting more frequent in the slow downs. I don'r have a for profit site, but you miss out on a lot of traffic when it takes 30 plus seconds to load a page using DSL.
Overall, my experience with Hostony has been positive, but I haven't had these slowdowns with other hosting sites. The occassional downtime is expected, but I really think that if there is an issue with server load, then there really needs to be something looked at. I want to upgrade my account this month, but I have to wait now until I see some improvement in the load issue.
Also, just how does someone use one's mail account to send spam? I know this happenned because I got a flood of mailer-deamon kick backs last week. Apparently a spammer was using my address to send his crap. I am the only one with email access to my account, so I suppose he just used my address right?
