Hello all, I was wondering if any have had experience with a work around for Mediawiki thumbnail issues relating to the error "passthru() has been disabled for security reasons"

I have done some searching on the web but the only answer I find is to ask your provider to remove the passthru() from the disabled section of the php ini file.

Does anyone know of a work around?

Is Hostony willing to remove the passthru() from the disabled section of the php ini file or does that pose some sort of security threat?

Passthru is disabled for security reasons in the main php.ini file and we are not going to remove it from the list as it will affect the security of the server.
