I know very little about the forums and have tinkered a bit with them and figured out a way to get mine up and running but still have problems a little. I was wondering how hard it was to make the theme different and how to get a hold of other themes.

Ok, you're talking about a PHPBB Forum, right?

If so, you need to download "styles" aka themes from the PHPBB site, for free.

The only problem is that their site has been down for almost a week now due to some issues: http://www.phpbb.com
