Hi - having an up and running website is absolutely essential to my livelihood and business. 65.125.225.170 (www.joaquimhailer.com) is currently down, and has been for hours. This means a potential loss of hundreds of dollars of sales for me, not to mention the unprofessional appearance of having a dead website. Any news as to what the problem is?

Thanks for your help

Power outage in US Northeast.

Power Outage
Alec
A major power outage simultaneously struck dozens of cities in the United States and Canada late Thursday afternoon. Cities affected include New York; Cleveland, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; Toronto and Ottawa, Canada. The power outage occurred shortly after 4 p.m.

Server 65.125.225.170 is only affected. It is located in Hauppauge, NY. It is inaccessible now and we can't contact anybody from datacenter. We don't know when the server will be backed online though by 6 p.m. the power was being restored in parts of the affected area.

As we were planning to transfer this server to another NOC we have recently (1-3 days ago) copied all accounts from server 65.125.225.170 on another server. The accounts are copied recently. Ip address of the new server is 66.98.144.44. To connect your cpanel control panel go through https://66.98.144.44:2083.
Resellers privileges are not set up by default on the new server so to enable WHM (if you are reseller) you need to contact us through email, helpdesk or ICQ/AIM.

Thanks for the replies, I figured as much - and I just read the post in the Announcements forum. But that is still unacceptable. What about this:

# Redundant Power Supply - Our Data Center is backed up and protected by the industry's finest UPS systems, providing our facility with fully redundant power.

# Redundant Power Supply - Our diesel generators start automatically in case of a power outage. These generators supply all the power necessary for the facility and can be refueled to power the facility indefinitely.

The power outage is huge and many datacenters are down because network is out.
We can guarantee you that server will be stay online when datacenter only is powered off but we can promise you nothing when about 15 states are out of power. There are many network connections and routers which are handled by the others companies.

I understand that, and thanks for replying. I'm just eager to do a little work on my site. Thanks for doing what you can - apologies if I am a little impatient!
