A slightly strange request.
I need to be able to run a MS powerpoint presentation from a website but not allow it to be downloaded or saved to the viewers hard drive..
Can anyone tell me how or if I can do this?

Not that I know of. You can make a password protected directory to only allow special people.
You know, I did do that one time, exactly what you want to do.
I somehow got Powerpoint to make me an HTML file, and it made the file embedded.

There's a save as webpage in PPT. That might be what you are looking for.

Ah, yes! Takes me back a few years. I started using Flash for everything, like interactive presentations.
-> But this will work in the same sense as flash...
| 1) You will need to "Save as WebPage" <-- Courtesy of pftq
| 2) Upload both the HTML file and any other file(s) it outputs, as well as the PPT file
| 3) Send your people the link to the HTML file PPT produces.

In Flash, you have two files that the user sees, and two files that Flash makes when you "Publish." The files are the actual presentation (.swf) and the HTML File (.htm) - Both are impressive programs.
