Well, I was wondering if anyone knew how I could put my splash page, index.php, and make it so that when sonicdash.net is loaded, I do not need a directory for a CMS like:

http://www.sonicdash.net/home
I want it to be http://www.sonicdash.net/index.php
Anyone have any solutions?

Thank you.

Someone, please?

This cannot be impossible to answer, i've seen it done on other sites..

You can do it using redirect

Cpanel->redirects

drom http://www.sonicdash.net/home to http://www.sonicdash.net/index.php

All it does is turn it into what I wasn't looking for XD

Okay, here is an example of what I mean:

http://www.sonicstadium.org

http://www.sonicstadium.org/index.php

Notice how .org is the splash page, and index.php is the CMS like page?

That's what I am trying to do.

.net turns into the splash page, .net/index.php turns into the CMS script.

Any help?

Are you using Fantastico to install your CMS? If so, just leave the directory field blank to install into your www.sonicdash.net public_html root folder. Careful if you have files in there already, as the CMS may overwrite them.

If you are manually installing the CMS, then you can obviously put the files in the public_html folder (again, be careful of overwriting files that you already have there).

Then, you need to create your splash page. Hostony's Apache servers are configured to accept index.htm index.html index.php (and probably others) as defualt index pages. You will have to find out which one comes highest in the priority list and then use that extension as your splash page.

Does this make sense?

Hostony, what is the order in which index pages are acessed. Which .ext should they use to make sure the page is loaded first when someone accesses their domain.

If you have a index.htm or index.html (or home.htm / .html) try to remove or rename them, then it should use the index.php by default.

I use index.php (splash page file) in my public_html area because I have a mysql loading feature in my index.php page.

Also, I have index.php for my CMS script.
It was installed manually too.
