Hi guys,
It's that time of year again, and I am nervious.
My domain is set to expire soon.
My big question is will it auto renew through Hostony? There is a real big reason I am nervous about it.
My domain name is a very high level domain name if you search any search engine (Google, Yahoo, etc) for the term "Moonport". Moonport was NASAs launch facilities for the Apollo lunar missions. My website ranks 3rd in the list when you search for this (top two results are NASA).
It also ranks high for the Orbiter Space Flight Simulator program for which my site is a mirror download and support site. This type of notariety is a highjackers delight if the domain expires for even a little while during the renewal period.
I know this from personal experiance. Thats one of the reasons I came to Hostony 2 years ago. My former domain was highjacked by a porn site when my domain expired and my stupid former web host providers (Hostingmatters) domain manager didn't register it for me the day it expired, yet they debited my credit card. Granted I got my money back when they discovered their screwup, but it was sickening to see my former domain take you to skid row, and there was nothing I could do about it.
So, is this an automatic process or is there something I need to do? I would LOVE to renew it before the expiration date if at all possible to make sure it stays in my name only.
Thanks!
(Oh, and by the way, I'm coming up on the 2nd year with Hostony and I only got mad once! You guys have been tops, and I've have had nothing but good experiances. Even when things were screwing up, your tech support fixed the problems in no time after opening a trouble ticket. Thats why I'm a satisfied Hostony customer since July '03.)
