A wildcard DNS would be like a cache all email address

A "normal" DNS entry looks like this: "www.yourdomain.com. IN A 127.0.0.1"
A wildcarded DNS entry looks like this: "*.yourdomain.com. IN A 127.0.0.1"

Even though the requests will be forwarded but you should still require proper subdomains to be configured or else will they also be routed to some catch all subdomain?
