my site is working fine but when i try to ftp anything new to it there's nothing there in the public_html directory. Is there some rearranging going on?

You or somebody else who has access to your admin panel must have deleted the files in the directory by mistake or on purpose. If there was something very essential in there, you can ask to find it in your backup.(In your trouble ticket of course )

well the files are still there and working or the my site wouldnt be up.

I checked in Cpanel and it seems in the file manager there, everything's fine, but that directery just shows empty on my ftp program. unfortunately I can't upload a whole directory through cpanel...

but yes i'll open a trouble ticket...
