Full Version: PHP / MySQL Very slow (non-functional)

I have a support ticket in, but thought I should put something here also. PHP /MySQL is incredibly slow and is timing out. Updating our database is basically impossible.
Please repair.

Been a few hours now.
Too bad we're trying to run our business on these servers.

Personally, I do not understand how someone can run a business but puts its "business critical" website on a shared hosting account...

maybe, rather than coming up with a snappy comback against a fellow forum member who, although is NOT staff and cannot do anything about "the daily problems" but was none the less trying to help you out, perhaps you may consider going to http://support.hostony.com/ and opening a trouble ticket on each of your issues.. you will get a much faster response and resolution to your issues there than spamming each and every problem in here..
after all.. there is obviously a problem somewhere since you have so many different issues listed, and the support/help desk would be the way to get them resolved..

again you go for the snappy comebacks to people who are trying to help you out instead of trying to use what they are trying to give you to help out your situation..
and also just as apparent, you cannot tell time very well..

and as your "first sentance" reads,

you have A support ticket in.. i suggested you open a ticket on EACH of your issues.. that will get you a better response, and each individual issue will be looked into much more reliably than if you open a single ticket and put in a laundry list..

now, perhaps you should read all of my post again, since appearently neither of us are reading the full posts before replying (at least according to you..)

Thank you for your help Whor3 - I do have tickets in on each issue. I was wrong. It has been more than a few hours that we have been experiencing problems. It has literally been all day. And you are correct, I don't know how to tell time very well. I never can remember if the big hand is the hour hand or the minute hand, but I am working on it.

i really didnt want to get into a flame war over me trying to help ya out, but since ya got the tickets in on each one, that is the way to go just wanted to make sure ya did..

ive been down that road with hostony support myself, and once i learned that a seperate ticket is needed for each issue, i have had nothing but very good service ans support from this company, and am very satisfied with the level of service that i recieved, and continue to recieve, and i hate to see people get frustrated when there is a possibility that there are things they can do to help themselves out, and thats what i was trying to convey, but you are a step ahead of me on that.

good luck with getting things fixxed, as im sure they will be asap for ya.

I have learned the same thing myself over the past 1.5 years here - I send a ticket for each issue. The reason I post problems here also is for the benefit of those shopping around for a host. If Hostony is costing me some of my customers and eating into my ability to put a roof over my family's head because of their inept product then I have no problem letting others know my experience. In fact, I feel it is really a duty.

Basically, the quality of Hostony has without a doubt gone down the tubes over our past 1.5 years. That's not a gripe - it's just truth. I've considered doing the VPS or dedicated servers here, but I am just not that confident that it is actually any better. To be down all day (even on shared) is really about as far down as you can get with a host.
I think anyone would agree that 99% uptime at Hostony is a fairy tale. It is (ON A GOOD MONTH) maybe 75% uptime here...and that's a big "maybe".
