can i know when hostony will upgrade php 4 to php 5.well i am using php files so my forum team suggest to upgrade to php5.?please tell me .
MartinB
I know than the upgrade to php5 now will be a KAOS in a shared hosting enviroment.

Q: REALLY is IMPOSSIBLE to install two or more php versions in a server and use one or another depending in the user choice ? changing extensions of php files (like .php -> current php4 version, or .php5 -> php5 stable version) ? Or something like that ?
or with the .htaccess?

I will investigate it a little.

best regards.

On my hosts PHP5 runs as CGI, PHP4 as module or CGI too. By default
scripts are executed with v4, if I want to use v5 I either use the
extension .php5 or change the server configuration with a .htaccess
file. Works quite well.

We are not upgrading for PHP 5 now, but in the nearest future, when it becomes more stable and it will leave up to all our system requirements, then we'll surely make this upgrade
