hi, i have been emailing your staff for several days, but i have been getting responses from several different people. i think it may be easier to post here and have all the replies in the same place.

first, i am going to be using this account for several different domains. i understand that i can host up to 10 domains on my account, after they have all been registered via a registrar. my current host uses a custom control panel, not cPanel so i am unfamiliar with how it works. i was reading another post on this forum about hosting multiple domains and saw something to the effect that all files will reside within the public_html folder. does this mean that i will have [for example]:

public_html\site1
public_html\site2
public_html\site3
public_html\site4

and these will all be named for each domain? will i be able to have seperate cPanel logins for each domain? as i will not be the only person administering them. can i regulate bandwidth and storage space on these accounts?

second, i have not yet decided how i am going to setup the files in my space, but would i have the option to mirror two domains? so that two different URLs will point to the same place? example:

http://domain1.com/file.html
http://domain2.com/file.html

could both point to the same file on the server? i dont know if i am going to do this yet or not, but because i get a free domain, and my current domain is in use at my current host, i am unsure how i will handle this at this point.

third, i plan to share this account with a friend who has a domain registered through DynDNS and doesnt want to transfer his domain, but rather change the nameserver settings to point to your server. will that pose a problem?

if i have further questions, i will post here.

regards,

You can host addon and prked domain with your hosting account. Using parked domains you can mirror your site so the file http://domain.com/file.html can be accessed as http://anotherdomain.com/file.html.

When you create a new domain name, it will be attached to a separated folder under your public_html

You can use our name servers with domain names which are registered elsewhere.
In this case contact us and we'll tell you correct name servers for the domain.

All your domains are managed from one cpanel interface and you can't share your cpanel, diskspace and quote between the different users.

so if i was to share this account with a friend, we would both use the same login for cPanel? would two people being logged in to the same account pose a problem? obviously it would if we were to both be editing the same files at the same time, but if we were operating on two seperate areas [for example two seperate domains], would this present a problem?

it is nearly 2:30am, so i am going to head off to bed. if there are sufficent answers here when i awake in about 12 hours, i will be prepared to purchase your hosting.

i appreciate the support i have recieved now, even though i am not a paying customer. and although i have read some reports of bad support here on the forums, i hope it continues as well as it has thus far.

you can give your friend only a FTP account for one domain, and he will see only his domain files, he can change his files, and you will not share your main cpanel account.

example:

ftp user: site1
directory: /public_html/site1

And now he'll change the files only for the domain site1.xxx.

note: this is only for "files" management.

thanks for the tip mblendinger, that is what i do currently with my host for the friends i have hosted on subdomains.

however, i was just reviewing the hosting plans, and if i was to purchase a reseller package instead of the super special, i can get the power reseller for less money. i just dont get the three months free.

if i was to use the reseller package [not the private label, but the regular reseller] it is only $9.85 a month. two dollars cheaper than the super special. i just wont get the three months free. which is no big worry to me. if i was to use the reseller i get WHM which if i read correctly would allow me to create seperate cPanel login names for all of the people on my package correct? if i hosted more domains, then i can set limits on their bandwidth usage, and disk usage correct?

if this is true, i will choose the power reseller package instead of the super special, so i can have a sperate login, and also be able to sublet the space that i have to other people.

If you buy Reseller you are used WHM which allows you to create seperate cPanel accounts with login names for all of the people on your package.

If you hosted more domains, you i can set limits on their bandwidth usage, disk usage, email accounts, FTP accounts ant etc.

Please pay your attention at this page:
http://hostony.com/reseller.html] http://hostony.com/reseller.html[/URL]

There is no power-reseller package.

Reseller's type packages are

STARTER STANDARD ENTERPRISE SUPREME

But If you want to resell just packages (Profi, Power and etc) and not purchase a bulk reseller package please contact sales@hostony.com.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Thank you.

Having purchased a bulk reseller package you can also resell our discounted (up to 50%) packages that can be offered to your customers as your own. If you want to resell just packages and not purchase a bulk reseller package please contact our sales team at sales@hostony.com. Minimum order to begin for customers who don't want to purchase bulk reseller package is 3 packages. This restriction doesn't apply for customers who already purchased bulk reseller package.

These packages you should buy here:

so the packages on the reseller.html page are only available at those prices if i buy a private label reseller account?

and there is no way for me to create seperate cPanel logins for each domain that i have on my account?
