Hi, need some help, just change my server from windows to lunix and I am new to it do not know how to...., the following are some of my Q&A.

1. For windows the ftp when I access in, will show me the www floder but how to get access it from lunix to the floder (www).

2. For windows the email page for webmail are webmail.domainname.com but for lunix how to access.

3. Who about the pop3 for the mail set up?

4. How about all my email on the windows server? now are missing from my lunix mail data.

5. In windows when created a database and username under MySQL, it will show only the database name and username, but in lunix it will show me something added infort sample: when I create a database call support, username call andy it will become todaydis_support and todaydis_andy, so when I install software should I use support as database name and andy as login or add todaydis_ to it?

Help me to pls.

I can answer a few of these for you, the other you'll need to ask support about...

1) When you FTP in, you should see your "root" folder, inside that should be a "public_html" folder and/or a link to "www"... that is your web folder root.

2) http://www.todaydiscus.com/webmail will work, or you can use it by its port, http://www.todaydiscus.com:2095

3) Pop3 and SMTP should be the same as your previous windows I belive. mail.todaydiscus.com for both...

4) Ask support if its possible to move those to the new server, not sure if its possible or not.

5) When you create databases on the linux hosting it appends your username to the front of the database name so todaydis_support is the full database name, even though you only called it "support". this allows multiple people on the server to have a database named "support" and not have it conflict with eachother, or force you to call it support123 etc... In your software settings where it asks for username or database name it will be in the format todaydis_support / todaydis_andy. ...

Hope that helps, welcome to the dark side smile.gif
