I'm using cpanel to upload new html, jpg, etc files via the Filemanager.
I login, and select FileManager
I select the Upload Files option.
I browse the file I want to upload.
I check the overwrite box.
I upload the file.
I view the file on the server and verify that the new file indeed was uploaded with
my new changes.
I clear my browser cache.
I go to my website www.nancyhowes.com
and the new changes I've made in the file I uploaded are not reflected
in the browser.
Is cpanel/webserver caching the old data? It seems so. How do
I flush it or does anyone have ideas asto why my new changes are
not getting reflected in the browser.
I have deleted the files and re uploaded them all and the browser
is still showing the old data. As I said, Ive cleared the Browser cache.
Thanks,
Nancy

Dear sikoya
As I see you have uploaded all of your files to /home/sikoya/ but you should upoload these files to /home/sikoya/public_html.
I've move all of your files which yo've uploaded from /home/sikoya/ to /home/sikoya/public_html/.
Please check it.
sikoya
Thanks for looking into this but things are still not working. I moved those
files from /home/sikoya to /home/sikoya/public_html this afternoon, so Im
not sure how you moved them and I moved them at the same time. It almost
seems like we are working in two separate or different file systems. The html that is
viewed in my browser at www.nancyhowes.com does not reflect the index.html
file in /home/sikoya/public_html. If you look at the index.html file, you will
not see any reference to the string Biography yet if you view the site in the
browser, you will see that string. There are many other differences between
what is being viewed in the browser and what is in the index.html file. I am
still very confused about what is going on. What I see in the browser is an
old index.html file that I copied over there two days ago. Not the file I copied
today (several times). Still looking for solutions here. Thanks. Nancy

I've took a look at your index.htm and I saw this entry here:
"I'll tell you more in the Biography section"
It means that browser show the right index.htm.
sikoya
My index file doesnt have that. We're in different fiilesystems.
When I log in and go to public_html my url is this:
http://209.152.170.32:2082/frontend/x/files/index.html
Is this correct?
To log into cpanel I go to this url
http://209.152.170.32:2082/
Is that correct?
I have DNS.HOSTONY.COM and DNS.HOSTONY.ORG set as
my nameservers.
Is that correct or should I be using something else?
The text you are seeing is from an old index file. In my index.html file
I see: I'll tell you more in the "Life So Far" section.
Maybe you can search on this string and see where its coming from.
Perhaps you can log in as me, and through cpanel, naviagate to
public_html, view the index file and see that it does not reconcile with
http://www.nancyhowes.com/index.htm
Is this a nameserver issue? Thanks for helping! I appreciate it.

Here's a screenshot of what I see, if that helps any....

I get the same thing... "I'll tell you more in the Biography section"

The url comes up as:
http://www.nancyhowes.com/index.htm

Should it be index.html?

Sorry... just guessing here... smile.gif

Hi,
Either file name should work.
Still looking for a solution to this problem. My website
is unusable in the meantime, since none of my updates
are shown. Could you please investigate as I suggested
in a previous email?
Thanks,
Nancy
artrocity
Thats what I see too.

I'll tell you more in the Biography section! Take a peek!
nancyhowes.com is resolving to 70.84.105.196 for me.

They recently moved server16 to a new location,
I was on that server and recieved an email on 1/9/2005 announcing the change.
QUOTE
We've just moved all accaunts on our server from 209.152.170.32 to 70.84.105.196
...
Please change your DNS records to

dns.hostony.com
dns.hostony.org

...
You can log into WHM on the new server via http://70.84.105.196:2086/
and to cpanel via http://70.84.105.196:2082.

Also if you want to have secure connection use:
https://70.84.105.196:2087/ for WHM
and https://70.84.105.196:2083/ for Cpanel.

You have to point your site to a new server if you have your own DNSs. You should change ip from
old to a 70.84.105.196. If can't do it manually, we'll help to do it.
Notify us about that and we'll synchronize your data. To prevent any
misunderstandings please inform us by ICQ (122590581) or AIM (Need4Support).
Both servers will live together during a week. And after that an old
server'll stop working.
You should inform all your clients about this movement.

change your cpanel links and you should be good to go.
sikoya
Thank you so much !!! that fixed the problem. I was pointing to the old
cpanel server. I didnt get that mail.
:-) I'm happy now.
