I've been ok for a while (maybe a month), but as of last couple of days, the server is increasingly slow, and I have been getting "page cannot be displayed".

The reason was that we made backups for our customers.
Sorry for this inconvenience.

I think QOS is more important than backup. This answer seems to have become the "generic" answer as to why things have failed, not working, or are slow. If thats the case, get another method of backing up as the way you are doing it is causing more problems than you are preventing with a backup.
No other host has EVER given me the excuse of "we were backing up, thats why your _____ didnt work" ... thats a Poor excuse.. its like saying I'm sorry but you wont be able to fit your car in your garage because we've put such big bumpers on it to protect it. WTFO ?

They actually have three pat-answers:
1. We're makin backups
2. We were flodded
3. We are aware of the problem ..
with the famous adendum: "Sorry for the Inconvenience!"
My website is down as well. I can ping it but I can't get to it in a browser.

Your site is up and running.
Shouldn't we be sorry for the inconveniences we caused you?
