Recently SFTP has stopped working on the server that my site is hosted on - normally this is no large problem; as I would just use FTP over SSL or some other implementation - FTP over SSL (either explicit or implicit encryption) does not work, either, however, and this creates a problem - there is no secure way, that I know of, to move files onto or off of the server. This is not good.

Why has SFTP been disabled? Can it be brought back? What are we to use, if we don't want our information flowing freely, unencrypted, over the 'net? Must we manually encrypt/decrypt every file?

We made upgrade that caused SFTP is not working. Please try out this tool: http://winscp.vse.cz/eng/. It allows you to upload files through secure connection via SSH.

Right. Sorry, I should have thought of that particular option on my own. Thanks.
