Cpanel down
Forum Down
Web-mail down
I have been looking for a reseller plan because the host I once used had stability problems and poor support.
I took my four clients and put them in different places and will make a decision by the end of the month.
My wife's site Scarlettes-web.com, is the only one I am having trouble with and it is the only one I have hosted here.
I am dissapointed because I am not sure how stable you realy are and I cannot resell services that are unstable.

We have big troubles with the server:
http://forum.hostony.com/viewtopic.php?p=1038#1038
Your database is not lost. It is stored on the server but the mysql server and client are unexecutable now. Also all mail servers, perl, ssh are down.
Only apache with php is active.
We apologize for it and are hating all spammers and hackers utterly.

Fair Enough! Thanks for answering me.
Let me know If I have to redo any panel settings When reinstall is complete.
I won't hold a hack attack against you,
and I will judge this experience by how well you recover.
If I seem defensive it's because I have invested alot of money (which I am unlikely to recover) in a previous host, that was down more than it was up.

It would be helpful to know, as another user pointed out, what time zone you're speaking of and from in reference to the downtime of 6-12 hours. I know I've been down for going on 7 hours now -- so, when you say you anticipate that server being up, could you give us an approximation using GMT?
THank you

The server is restored and we are copying users data. Please be patient. If everything will be ok users data should be restored in about an hour.

"restored in about an hour..." FROM WHEN? Would you please state ALL of your times and estimates with respect to GMT? This would give us ALL a glimmer of an idea what toexpect!!!!!
"... about an hour..." tells me NOTHING.

I think I can help with "GMT time"
Although confusing at first, this is a way to get us all on the "same page" in a world with many time zones.
The key is to set the time in your profile to your time zone,
I live in New York
EST
it seems to work @ GMT-4 for me
if you are on the East Coast try that
Once set, you see all posts in your time!
If it says 3:30 on the post, it would mean "3:30 your time" no matter who the poster was.

Most humble apologies...
Thank you fo pointing me to "Profile"
By the way, EST is GMT-5

NORMALLY, EST is GMT -5, but you're correct. I had to select GMT - 4 to get the correct local time. Hostony's clocks must be off, just like their servers!! :-)

Actually I think It's the "daylight Savings Time"
fiasco confusing us all as usual
No doubt a plot
to confuse us few in the world who follow this absurd tradition

Some forum scripts don't handle DST that well, so yes, you might have to adjust the time a bit.
