Hostony Board > General > Pre-Sales Questions
James
Hi,

I have a long message for you.

I am interested in your special plan option. If I subscribe for 1 year
I will get 3GB of Storage space, 80GB of data transfer with Free setup
all for $11.85 per month ($142.20/year)?

Does this Plan support the following:
1. Video Streaming (Real Audio/Video or Windows Media Player) or Both?
2. Flash and or Shockwave Files?
3. Cold Fusion?
4. Shared SSL or Private SSL?

And Lastly
1. Is MySQL Database Size is part of 3GB Storage Space or Seperate, If Seperate
How much space.
2. Is there a limited to how many schemas I can setup for MySQL?
3. Is Email access Through Web Mail Only or Can I pull it down to MS Outlook?
4. Is there a limited Mail Box Size? If Yes, How Much for Each Mail Box
5. Is there any free software/scripts that come with this plan. I am interested in the following software: BulletinBoard, Calander, Online Chat, eCommerce

Thanks,
JasonJones
Thats the plan I signed up for, so lets see if I can answer from what I've learned here....

$142.20/year is what I paid for 1 year as well, should be the 1yr cost.

You can stream audio/video, although if it causes a lot of stress on the server, you will probably be asked to get a VDS (virtual dedicated server)

Flash/Shockwave, yep.. no problem, the plan does not limit the "type" of files you have on the server, only the content of them (no adult/illegal etc)

Cold Fusion... Pretty sure, no... I think there was a thread about this the other day, and it was determined it does not support it.

SSL, I belive its $10 for a dedicated IP so you can do it, I also belive they offer shared, someone from hostony will need to answer this one... You have to pay for your certificate either way.

The Database is part of your storage space, as well as your email storage is part of that as well.

By Schemas if you mean tables/databases etc, No Limit (according to plan)

You have full POP3 and SMTP access to the server, so you can use any mail client you wish.

The mailbox size is limited by your account space, you can set a "quota" on any of the accounts if you wish, or none...

Free scripts abundant.. lets see if I can produce a list here (this is from my linux hosting)

regarding to SSL, I only want to correct the dedicated ip price: $3
And they also resell trusted certificates so you can get them from them.

does email transfer count as your monthly limit?
Alec
Yes, smtp, ftp and pop traffic are included in your total monthly bandwidth limit.
