a question about using FTP to update our sites. Usually when we upload a file using FTP, the timestamp will be set to the time that we upload the file.
Some new FTP servers support setting the time on the host, so that when we upload our web page, the file on the host can show the correct file time for the web page instead of just when it was uploaded.
whic do you use

Conserving Local File Time
The MDTM command is used for retrieving a filetime from the server. However, some FTP clients use the MDTM command to set an uploaded file's time as well.
The syntax is MDTM YYYYMMDDHHMMSS FILENAME, where the HHMMSS is UTC.
Many servers support this, and many don't. You should ftp into an account and try for us.
