it was like that all morning (untill at least 2pmMST when i left the house)
and this seems to be a recurring problem, and its only with the MySQL data base that i get this error, i had the same one just a few days ago and another probly last weekish there are threads here for each i'm sure. Its actually starting to become an inconvenience.

Such a nice day out side it is. Today I had a nice little breakfast with Kestri, and I've decided that our husbands are some how related and must have been seperated at birth. Between the two of us we decided to start a Mommy's Club eventually.(she has a 5 year head start on me though) hopefully I'll be in the game with in the next year or two.
I saw there only the site's content and there is no any MySQL error displayed.

phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database
My users are saying this his happening at least 2-3 times a day and it eventually works itself out with in an hour or two but the posting error (picture linked above) continues to happen to everyone.
I did put in a ticket about that, but received an email asking what they should do...

I believe that simply means either the host is down, mysql downtime or simply your configuration is wrong.
Other than that, I don't know.

well i can see your main site so that means to me
that the server is up and mysql is up
as your blog requires mysql.
that leaves just the forum.
1) check that the DB exists in phpmysqladmin in your cpanel
2) check the config of the phpBB

Yes, server is ok and mysql is up.
you should check your connection script

everything with that was installed through cpanel. i'm by no means a programmer of anything other than my own VCR. I dont even know what a conncectoin script is.

is the database still there?
if so you might be able to save any messages that you had.
If it was me I would try to install phpBB to a new folder
and import the old messages.

the only thing i deleted were my inactive forums (2 of them) and i used cpanel to do it.
and now my main page has been down since yesterday, also with a mysql conncection error.

I suggest going to Invision Power Board or
Invision Board, download the PF4 trial and have a good day.
IPB is the best forum software in my opinion.
