Galeden Wolf is one of my security Staff Members in my message board. Marsj3, is the webmaster that threatend to hack my site. Unfortunatly we don't know Protoman's IP. Marsj3, well we don't even bother, he doesn't know how to hack. I don't know what can be done really, but this is serious. I take no threats lightly. Please assist me.

EDIT: Chaos Sanctum did not hack the boards. No tools were used so it was obviously no hack. However THEY do plan to use Tools to hack the site. Also, when backing up, the Back up Home Directory backs up everything? Or how does that work?

I would keep current and past backups and make them available if they need to be placed back onto the web.

Also, make sure to download the logs and make screenshots of any hacking attempts. If you are located in the USA, then a hacking attempt can be reported to the FBI and depending on the situation, strict punishments can be dealt down.

You might also want to try to find information about this user that might hack and try to block his IP address and other such things. It might deter actions somewhat.

You might also want to change password for CPanel and your forum.

I changed my passwords, backed up the database. Hope this is just a bluff, but still, I don't take threats lightly.

You might want to CHMOD the config_global.php file to at least 775. You don't want the public to write to it.

this becomes a pain in the butt though. Every time you make any changes in the AdminCP, you will need to change the CHMOD so the script can write to it, then change it back.

From what I read, the hackers over write this file. Easy enough to do...
