On my site, in my main layout and forums, does anyone have any design tips?

I am a bit....on the disabled learning side, so, it may be hard to comprehend for me :P

I am wanting to have a happy new looking design.
I realized the black and white seems depressing to other people.

I want to capture the feel of Sonic's speed, theme and blue blur without copying other sites.

Not only that, but, I want to have a unique design than other Sonic sites have, like in my affiliates.

The main page, which others are a replica of, is this one.

I hope you can help me on it, I want to make it nice and relaxing.

And its a community, not business related.

Hai dark the first thing I did notice in your site is the background. Well you should sincerely remove that as the text is not visible. I wonder how the guys with Laptops can see any such existing links.

Create a simple site layout, for e.g visit www.simplysty.com where i noticed the clean structures or www.vega2000.net and just see for yourself.
