Full Version: AWStats and Webalizer config files

I believe that both AWStats and Webalizer allow one to have a local config file which the user could customize.

Would it be possible for Hostony to setup both AWStats and Webalizer to search a local user directory for both an AWstats.conf and a Webalizer.conf files?

That way those of us that want to customize our web analysis reports can do so... And everybody else would default to the system-wide config files... It also has the advantage that if one completely screws up one's local config file.... one can just delete it and go back to the system-wide default.

It is not possible by security restrictions and file permissions.
If you wish you can download your raw logs and parse them on your local computer.

Phobos, this is good except for one thing: the raw logs saved by Hostony have big gaps. Let's say it's 9pm, July 16th in East Coast USA and a Hostony site owner wants to check his raw logs for site traffic for that day. He's out of luck because the Hostony servers, being on GMT, have passed midnight, deleted the raw log of July 16 and started the log for the 17th. The only way the user can get raw log data for the 16th now is to wait until the full month log for July is archived, which won't happen until midnight of the 31st. This isn't good. You should have a month-to-date log available which is updated every four hours or so. I realize it's a bit heavy on server resources, but hey, spring for more RAM if you must.

You can use "Raw Log Manager" to save archived logs in your home directory at the end of each stats run.

"Raw Log Manager" lets you save monthly stats at the end of each month. Tell me how you see raw stats for July 16 when today is July 17.
