I am on a Linux Profi plan (www.projectblackops.com) and I have a couple questions.

What is the difference between the directory /www and /public_html

Second, I made an index.html file and it IS displaying as the "initial page load" (i.e. i go to my site and it brings up my index.html file). Thats awesome for now, but how can I set up another folder or subdirectory to auto-load a different file (say I go to www.projectblackops.com/moreinfo) How would I tell moreinfo to display some page? I believe its a .htaccess file....

One more question! :-)

Would I make a .htaccess file for each directory?

Thanks for your patience with a newbie on this stuff!!! :-)

There is no difference between www and public_html. you can use both.

It's simpler than messing with .htaccess.
Just put a file named index.html in the sub-folder.
When someone types www.mysitename.com/coolfolder into their browser, index.html will load automatically.
If you don't want to use index.html, THEN you will have to edit .htaccess.
