gd 2 is installed on the server.
But there is a problem with compatibility of gd with php so gd is enabled in test mode and may be disabled when some problems occur

Yes, you will.
We have GD, we just do not officially support it.

I'm not sure if thats good news or bad because its not working on my site so now i have to find out whats wrong.

is an ANSI C library for the dynamic creation of images.
It allows your code to quickly draw images complete with lines, arcs, text, multiple colors, cut and paste from other images, and flood fills, and write out the result as a PNG or JPEG file. This is particularly useful in World Wide Web applications, where PNG and JPEG are two of the formats accepted for inline images by most browsers.
GD does not create GIF images (this will change soon as patents are expiring internationally).
