A security vulnerability was discovered from which floating point exceptions inside the signal handler of the Linux kernel can effectively lock the entire system. A malicious user could start a program which will create an unkillable process that
takes up 99.9% of the CPU capacity. Once started, only server reboot can help this issue.

As a precaution we will be upgrading all of our VPS server’s main nodes with the new patched Kernel, this will start immediately and each hardware node will need to be fully rebooted to its new kernel once updated. We expect downtime to be to a minimal but on some servers a manual FSCK may be required and downtimes could be longer if this occurs.

Reboots will start tonight at 11 PM and are expected to go on threw out the night.
