I currently have a domain name registered on TRIPOD. I just purchased a HOSTONY plan and I would like to use the name I registered with TRIPOD and move my web site here. What do I need to do in order to keep that domain name? Do I have to pay for a new one here?

You need to change the name servers in your domain name.
Please put the name servers we sent in account information email in to your registrar's account as primary and secondary name servers for your domain.
