Hi there

What is the recommended backup procedure for MySQL databases on the Windows platform?
Stanly
You can backup your databases via phpMyAdmin.
But I think you don't need it 'cause we're testing new bacup system for Windows platform and I think it will be installed soon.

I should have clarified this question.

I would like to set up an automated task to do the backups, but what backup command(s) do I need. What do you recommend.

Also, what is the timeframe for your new backup procedure?
Stanly
You can use mysqldump for backups.

mysqldump database_name > backup_file_name.sql

Also our new bacup system has the same delay as the old one - once a week.

is it possible to schedule that command to run every 24 hours and overwrite the exisitng backup?

Thanks
