I am having problems with server side includes. I want use them to create a template. I have a footer files titled footer.shtml and want to have that display in my html file. But when I use:




nothing appears when I pull up the page in the browser. Am I doing this wrong or is there some other code I should be using on these servers?

Does the page you are trying to put it in have the .shtml extention?

Thanks Niakie. I had the footer named with the SHTML extension but not the file that I was placing it into. Ooops. I should have remembered that. It's the simple stuff that confuses me the most!

Not a problem, thats what always caught me up when I first started to use SHTML
