Hi. I have a question regarding the logging of viewer access to a html/wml page.
I guess a WAP gateway, when it requests a wml page from our subdomain, can append a userid into the http header in the http request, which is unique for each mobile user. Is apache able to read this userid and record it in a log file so we can have a list of mobile users who have accessed selected wml decks?
Thanks in advance.

Web server recognizes WAP gateway hostname only because it can't get specific information from WAP provider itself.

What if the WAP provider appends the userid of the user when sending the http request to the http server? Can the userid be retrieved and logged? If so, how can that be done? Thanks.

No, there is no such feature.

Oh. Then is there any other method to log viewer access? I'd like to keep track of mobile users (who have been given a unique id) who browse selected wml decks hosted on hostony.

All accesses are writed to the log file.
Also you can see all statistic at your control panel.

Thanks Stanley. Actually what I'm trying to do is some form of WAP billing in order to charge mobile users for access to some WAP pages so I need to be able to extract CDR information to be sent to the WAP provider. Any suggestions? Does Hostony provide such services?

We provide WML.
If you need to get CDR information it can be done only by your scripts.

Hi Stanly. Would appreciate if you could tell me where the CDR info may be retrieved from and what scripts you would recommend? As we are new to WAP content provision and billing, we would greatly appreciate your assistance. Thanks
