Ok 2 troubletickets and they still don't get me.. might just be me, been working all day, but let's try again: =)

: It's ok.
You can access your domain via direct IP
http://67.15.24.22/~tophp/ddr/phpBB2/
or
via name http://www.ddayrangers.co.uk/phpBB2/

.

Yes, I know it's ok and everything is working properly, but, if you visit http://www.ddayrangers.co.uk/phpBB2/ (which is an addon domain) Internet Explorer's statusbar will reveal (display) server 18's IP address (http://67.15.24.22/~tophp/ddr/phpBB2/) instead of http://www.ddayrangers.co.uk/phpBB2/ .

Meaning: Internet Explorer's statusbar (the one all the way in the bottom) will display http://67.15.24.22/~tophp/ddr/phpBB2/ instead of http://www.ddayrangers.co.uk/phpBB2/

Why? That's what I'm curious of.. Is there no way to force Internet Explorer to display http://www.ddayrangers.co.uk/phpBB2/ in the statusbar instead of http://67.15.24.22/~tophp/ddr/phpBB2/ ??

Cheers,

As I can see it is Internet Explorer issue, not our smile.gif

Well, previous addon (extra) domains @ previous web hosting services haven't displayed the server's IP address when installing phpBB2 on a addon domain. That's the problem.

If someone knows how to enforce either IE or phpBB2 to hide the IP address - or even better - change phpBB2 to display a domain instead of an IP address in its statusbar it would be very appretiated smile.gif

If not, well then I guess *beep* happens hehe.

your .htaccess file contain the following lines:

RewriteEngine on

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^ddayrangers.co.uk$ [OR]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.ddayrangers.co.uk$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://67.15.24.22/~tophp/ddr [R=301,L]

Delete last line from this file and your forum must be linked properly

I had .htaccess in mind the other day but think I only checked my public_html root .htaccess file if I remember right :S

Ok, I've done it now - gonna give it some time cause it's still displaying the server's IP.

But yeah valid point, so cheers wink.gif
