Full Version: Time issues with server

i'm using a PHP enabled database that pulls the time from the server.

but the server keeps switching it's local time, which totally screws up everything.

I have my code set to PST:

$zone=3600*-8; //USA PST Time
$time = date("m-d-Y, g:i a", time() + $zone);

and it WAS working fine. but every couple of days the server seems to switch to some other time zone, messing up all my database queries, and when i change my code, couple days later, it switches back!

this is about the 3rd time this has happened.

i've already opened a ticket on this, but i wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing this problem.

you can see my time tests, and how they changed from the actual time to another time over a few days: (and remember i made no change to MY code)

: No, we didn't change time zone.
All of our servers are runnig in GMT+00 time zone and NEVER will be
changed.

okay, then why is my time changing?

MY CODE hasn't changed, so what's going on?!?!?
obviously there's an issue... help! please?!?!?
Stanly
Sorry for this issue.

I was sure that time is OK 'cause we nevere change it.
But when I've checked I saw that you was right - time was wrong. It was changed by server software accidentally.

Fixed now.
Sorry again.

The same thing was happening to me, but i was told over and over it my on my end or my scripting... see the thread: Time Thread

Took 10 days to get it resolved for me.. I guess you're luckier than I am.

I agree, customer service support "at times" is far superior here than any other host I have been with, but there are times it is like working with my brothers kids. But I am still happy with Hostony in general. smile.gif

After speaking with Gleb/Stanley, I have had enough, Again, according to Hostony, nothing is wrong. Goodbye Hostony.

I've synchronized system clock and CMOS clock.

Now your forum time must work properly.

Please continue looking on your forum time and tell us if the problem appears again

I am in timezone EST. It is 1135 AM (in the morning here)
Your website (TSFBA.com) says it is 1135 PM (at night).

It is not off by five hours, but it SURE is NOT RIGHT!!

Maybe this info will help you and Hostony figure out who is wrong!
