QUOTE(Kendric Moxon @ Feb 17 2004, 03:24 AM)
Is anyone else having the following problem?

My DNS servers are NS16.Hostony.com and NS17.Hostony.com.
Every single time that I create a subdomain I end up having to open a ticket to get DNS information for that subdomain copied to the secondary DNS server.

Am I the only one having this issue? I'm tired of having to get DNS info manually sync'd between the two DNS servers and the staff is probably tired of me submitting tickets.

I have to say every time i have created a sub domain
I've had to open a support ticket to get it going...

I havent done the detective work that you have
so i don't know the how and why's....
but yes its not an automatic thing here either...
Vanya
We are now developing new DNS system for our servers.
This issue will disappear than.

I've been running around in circles for a week now trying to get my 2 subdomains up. Have been posting to this forum hoping to get some ideas + raising endless support tickets - very frustrating.

Now that you mentioned it, Kendric and Atrocity, I'm inclined to believe it wasn't the ftp fields that were wrong or my cpanel setup, it's probably the DNS thingey. Ugh. But thanks for the tip 'cos I didn't think to suspect the DNS.

Now I'll have to go raise that umpteenth support ticket to get the DNS for my subdomains propagated. I know, I know, they must be tired of getting support tickets from me too ohmy.gif(

BTW, isn't there some sort of help screen/FAQ that new users can go to get some help with such issues? I'm sure some of these problems we're encountering must be pretty basic/routine and can be ironed out pretty quickly if we knew where to look.
Vanya
Ok, open a ticket. We'll fix it soon.

FAQ is under develepment.

All mentioned subdomains give A+ score.

As Ivan said above we are working on new dns system. We'll keep you informed about development process.

The more you ask, the more you make them take the time to answer you.

Dude, just wait, they "are" working on it.

Its not like you can force the server yourself to do it for yourself.

Just have patience and wait, find something to do, do something.

Its not like you can tell it to work automatically.

Just wait for them to be done, its not "that" hard to do.
artrocity
I'm all for patience and all but this is MONTHs we are talking about.

Sonic , this isnt against you. (trying to be the peace maker) but
Moxon asked what... 2,3 times in the last 6 months
and his issue is not resolved.

Adding a subdomain should be automatic
Should be a non-issue.

If adding a subdomain worked as it should
then Moxon would not have to bug support to
fix his subdomain OR bitch here that it doesnt work
freeing support up to more important things...

I like Hostony but its little thing like this
that really irk me also...
Dark Hedgehog
Hmm, good point.

I never realized that when I read it.

And yeah, now I see what you mean.
Doesn't seem good at all.

Six months like that?
Wow.

I would have to say the Staff of Hostony forgot about it or are being reminded to do something about it.

But if he asked twice or so, I would have to say, they are ignoring his request.

We have 2 servers running new DNS soft and we are looking on it.

If it will be accepted to use on all shared servers we'll set up. I think that you do not like one day all your sites will down because of crude dns soft
