If I recall right, just ask by email or support ticket and they will setup your dns. Take it from a previous Hostony reseller wink.gif

hello, old customer here. i renewed the service feb 7th i and was billed $142.20 which i presume is for the special shared offer (i used to have the reseller one). thats cool with me, but it seems all of my userinfo has changed.

i've been without internet for 3-4 months due to appartment movement so i need info on which server i'm on and login details for cpanel. the login i had before doesnt work, the support system doesnt wanna log me in (allthough the password has been reset and sent to me twice the last 20 mins) and i really need to upload something to my acount as soon as possible ffs.

you can send me all info to toph1980@hotmail.com

looking forward to a fast reply.

1) If you are referring to reselling then YES, all of your clients can check their email from their cPanel or using theirdomain.com/webmail

2) Again, as a reseller all of your clients will have access to their own cPanel.

That is what I'm saying.. I added 999... but when re-editing the package to check it had changed back to 0. And when using the package cPanel also display 0 / 0 emails etc. Why doesn't it aprove 999? It doesnt aprove no number at all.

Has it something to do with the feature manager?

Hi! Just had my account changed from Shared Gold to Starter Reseller.

Thank you =)

But, when creating new hosting packages through WHM, no matter if I add unlimited (standard) or 999 features to a package (emails, sql dbs etc) it shows up as 0 when testing the packages through cPanel not letting me create new emails, ftp accounts etc. Any idea why? Was just testing it out..

Regards
Chris

It is.. to keep it short and simple man, YES, it is possible for two different domains to point to the same website/content. Cloacking/masking it is up to you. Its easy to carry out too =)

There are several ways to do it ex: domain parking (cPanel), addon domain (cPanel), URL forwarding (cPanel), from your domain management panel (if registered outside Hostony) etc.

Anyway, yeah it's possible..

Regarding email accounts, never tested out email acounts for parked domains, but if you add your domains as ADDON DOMAINS you will get actual pop3 email accounts. All Hostony hosting plans offer unlimited email POP3/IMAP accounts.

Yeah I know but you can just filter the actually file name as an extension - .htaccess - and it will work.. It did the trick for me anyway on my filter list.

You can actually contact Hostony's support for advice on SSL purchase.

Do you use a FTP client? Check your filter list to ensure you can view file extensions you want visible in your file browser window. Also, Hostony support SSL but you will need a SSL certificate. You have to buy it (ask Hostony if they sell SSL certificates as I dunno).

Check your CPanel:

Icon 17 from top = Web/FTP Stats
Icon 21 from top = Subdomain Stats

Regarding SHOPPING CARTS: If you got an icon in Cpanel entitled Scripts Library click on it. You will be given the option to install osCommerce which is a brilliant shopping cart system.

You should also have an icon in Cpanel entiteld Agora Shopping Cart.

And through Fantastico (not on all servers yet) you can also install PHPCOIN which is a PHP-based shopping cart system.

As for SUBDOMAINS and how to setup them check out this Hostony flash tutorial:

*Note: Keep in mind your PROFI Account only allows unlimited subdomains but ONLY 1 MAIN DOMAIN meaning you can setup all the subdomains you want but no ADDON domains.

Check your CPanel.. Icon 9 from the top.. it's entitled BACKUP. Or you can set a Cron Job to do it. Or you can do it through FTP =)

Hi!

I've been thinking of starting a small web business and provide hosting. I got a Shared Gold Account with you guys paid up in front, is it possible to change it to a reseller account? A shared gold account costs $298, same as a Starter Private Reseller Account (if both paid 1 year in front).

Also, Quote: "If you want to resell just packages and not purchase a bulk reseller package please contact our sales team at sales@hostony.com. Minimum order to begin for customers who don't want to purchase bulk reseller package is 3 packages."

How do you resell packages without purchasing a bulk reseller package? And does it mean my business has to go online and have 3 orders waiting to be processed before I can be validated? I sent an email to your sales department but I havent recieved no reply.

Keep up the good work =)

Yup!

Also, a subdomain will be created... ex: subdomain.maindomain.com .. which will - like user bgp1 pointed out - point to yourroot/public_html/subdomain/
