Get a VPS with cPanel and ask to support team to move your account to the VPS, it's very easy using cpanel tools.

If you want to do it by yourself, you can found the step-by-step to do that on some place on this forum, I can't remember where, but it was the last few months smile.gif unsure.gif

get a VPSOPTIMA, VPSSUPER or better, I think 128 Mb is very low for a cpanel based server

Found it: http://forum.hostony.com/index.php?showtop...503&#entry24503

thanks smile.gif

Who has done it and how painful was it... ??? did you move your own files or did hostony staff move them for you?

If you moved your own site, how did you do it? FTP? databases??

Been here for a long time as well, Started with one site \ account and now have multiple sites and accounts. I usually only visit this forum when I have a problem and that's what's going on as we speak, I have several sites down on one account. I have little patience and can be very demanding at times which Sergey, Oleg, Alexandre and the others can attest to. I moved to Hostony because they were recommended on a website I used to visit. I had been searching for a new host and after experimenting with 2-3 others I chose Hostony, and I've been here ever since. Not sure how long you have been using the web for hosting or buliding sites etc.. but you will find if you don't already know that no system is foolproof. Even if you were to have your own server in your office at your desk running linux - firewalled - OC-3 - and one small site, it will fail at some point.

I have recommended Hostony to others and they moved here and had a very bad time in the beginning, but the issue was finally resolved and they still have thier sites with hostony. My main site had some issues recently and they worked it out in due time. and as I stated before I am still waiting on a reply to my currently submitted trouble ticket. All my sites are $$$ generators for me so when any of them have an issue I am losing money as well as my reputation is getting harmed. If I were to depend on my sites for my single income they would be on a dedicated server.

In my Day job I'm a Network Admin in a multi OS enviroment, this gives me the added insight in knowing what Hostony Tech Support has to deal with on a daily basis.

Hope this gives you some answers...

Long Story short - Hostony is a good hosting company, great pricing as well as great Tech Support. Always remember, perfection exists only in Heaven.

mad.gif I have just been informed by Tech Support that one of my accounts has been suspended because I have chat installed. phpmychat is available on my account homepage, flashchat uses less resources than phpmychat. however that's not the issue! the issue is my account was suspended with no warning, or any type of notification. Hostony just felt like turning off my account, and voila, it's off... then they take over a ####@@ing hour to reply to my trouble ticket, and probably would have not replied then if I had not submitted it to a supervisor.

It seems the longer I am with hostony the worse I am treated, If Hostony does not want me to be a customer, it is much easier to just tell me , and I will be glad to find a new hosting company

QUOTE(Lehrer @ Feb 13 2006, 12:24 PM) *
Dear Customers,

We will be performing an emergency maintenance on the segment your server is located in (67.15.52.34) on Wednesday February 15th,
12:01AM-07:00AM (CST)
. This will involve the powering down of your server for approximately 1 hour at a point during this window. While we anticipate that it will be resolved in much less time, however; this is the amount of time we ask from when your server becomes inaccessible to ensure everything is up and operating correctly again prior to submitting a support request to investigate your server. We are bringing in staff specifically for this maintenance so that their focus is only on ensuring your server is back online as soon as possible.
We would like to apologize for any inconveniences this may cause you, but it is a necessary maintenance. We will be doing our best to ensure your server is powered down via console prior to the maintenance, and we will check each server after it is powered back on to ensure it is online and accessible again.

Is this finished?

to create your nameservers, you have to go to the registar of your domain and create them. It will take 24-48 hrs + for the names to propagate throughout the net.
